Parks and Recreation
Orange Park Athletic Alumni Association – When Connie joined the Town Council, she was assigned to the Parks and Recreation Committee. She saw an immediate need for the improvement of the Orange Park Athletic Park, and, in association and collaboration with the Orange Park Athletic Association and interested Town residents, spearheaded the formation of the Orange Park Athletic Alumni Association. Connie also found public funding to install water wells to irrigate the athletic fields and brought the concerns and needs of the Skate Park to the table.
Residents with Differing Abilities – When Connie became Mayor of the Town, she began to hold monthly “Meetings with the Mayor.” It was through those meetings that she learned of concerns of misuse of Town Hall Park equipment designed for citizens with Differing Abilities. She met with the Clay County Change Makers to find ways to educate and promote awareness among residents on the great care needed for this equipment.
